Sorry, but you still have the wrong title on it. Afghanistan NOT Syria.
I emailed them about this. :)
How is it possible for U.S. forces to occupy the country for 17 years, and, during that time, for Afghan Heroin exports to the United States to more than quadruple? Why is there a single Opium plant left alive in the county? The Opium harvest must not only be funding the Taliban, the CIA must be getting a cut of the profits, too, or else there is no explanation for this. Annual Opioid deaths in the U.S. now exceed 60,000; more American *civilians* in a single year than all the troops lost in Vietnam during the entire war. Exactly what benefit are we getting from being in Afghanistan if the protected Opium harvest is killing 60,000 of our people each year? How would it be any different next year? This is criminal corruption.
