A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- At least 11 government troops were killed in Sozma Qala and Sancharak districts in Sar-e-Pul province;
- At least 8 government troops were killed in a Taliban attack on a checkpoint in Aynak Copper Mine in Logar province;
- Government sources claimed that 31 Taliban members were killed in clashes in Zherai, Meyanshen and Spin Boldak districts of Kandahar province;
- The Khastak valley of the Juram district in Badakhshan province became a strongpoint of ISIS-affilated militants, local authorities say. According to them, at least 400 ISIS members operated in this area only.
