A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- Taliban delegation from their political office in Qatar, led by Mullah Abdul Baradar, met with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Mahmood Qureshi to discuss the Afghan peace process;
- Flash floods in Kooz Kunar district in the eastern province of Nangarhar killed 16 people, 15 of the victims were children;
- At least 60 people died in flash floods in the town of Charikar, capital of Parwan province;
- ISIS claimed responsibility for the assassination of an alleged Afghan intelligence officer in Kabul;
- Two civilians and one Afghan National Army commander were killed and more than 40 were wounded when a truck bomb detonated in Balkh province. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
