A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- At least 5 security force members were killed in a Taliban attack in the Kisa Toop area at the Kunduz-Baghlan highway early;
- Marine Gen. Frank McKenzie, the head of the United States Central Command, claimed that an increasing Iranian presence in Afghanistan was threatening US interests;
- Government forces retook the Guzargah-e-Noor district of Baghlan province from the Taliban, according to pro-government sources;
- A mother and 2 children were killed in an airstrike in the Muqur district of Badghis province.
