- On February 17, forces loyal to Ahmad Massoud attacked Taliban positions in the Dare district of Panjshir province. Three Taliban members reportedly were killed;
- On February 18, Taliban helicopters attacked positions of forces loyal to Ahmad Massoud in the Andarab district of Baghlan province;
- The Pakistani military has announced the launch of operations against terrorist groups including Pakistani Taliban along the border with Afghanistan.
