A brief overview of the military situation in Afghanistan:
- BBC claimed that two top members of the ‘Pakistani’ Taliban, Sheikh Khalid Haqqani and Qari Saifullah, were killed in Kabul;
- Government forces accidentially killed Ahmad Shah, the commander of the Afghan National Police’s operational unit in the province of Herat, in Herat city;
- The Afghan Army’s 209 Shaheen Army Corps announced that its forces had cleared parts of the Chamtal district in Balkh province;
- The Taliban claimed that its forces had downed a US drone in the Alishang district of Laghman province;
- 47 government fighters defected to the Taliban in Baghlan province, the group announced.
US occupation forces have suffered a very serious loss today as they were attacked by disgruntled ANA soldiers who resent brutal NATO occupation of their country. It also shows that ANA is completely compromised like the ARVN during the Vietnam quagmire.
