A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- On January 11, Taliban fighters ambushed an Afghan army convoy in the Nawa area of Helmand and destroyed two Humvees;
- On January 11, Afghanistan National Security Forces arrested five members of the Taliban and the Haqqani network on charges of espionage;
- On January 10, at least 14 Taliban members including 9 Pakistani nationals were killed in airstrikes of the Afghan Air Force in Khash Rod district of Nimroz province, according to the Ministry of Defense;
- On January 10, the Afghan Air Force neutralized a car bomb in Nirkh district of Maidan Wardak province, according to the Ministry of Defense;
- On January 11, an armed attack took place in Jalalabad city, an National Security officer was killed.
