A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- On January 8, ISIS attacked a Taliban position in the Shore Yek area of Kunar province;
- On January 8, 8 people were killed or wounded in and IED attack in Baghlan town;
- On January 8, clashes between Taliban and the army were reported near Farah city;
- On January 9, an IED blast targeted a SUV in the Kabul city. There were no reports on casualties;
- On January 8, an IED blast targeted a vehicle of the army north of Qandahar city.
