A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- Three children were killed in the southern province of Zabul in an explosion of rocket, with wich they were playing;
- Suhail Shaheen, a spokesman of the Taliban’s political office in Qatar, said that the group released 17 government-affiliated prisoners in Ghor province;
- Afghan forces have repelled Taliban attacks in Shalez and Asheqwal areas in the center of Ghazni province, the Defense Ministry said;
- US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper claimed that Russia is in contact with the Taliban, the Haqqani Network, and other groups in Afghanistan and it is taking advantage of this connection.
