A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- At least five people were killed and eleven others were wounded by a blast in Surobi district of Kabul province;
- According to Pentagon, an American soldier died in Afghanistan as a result of a non-combat-related incident in southern Kandahar province, on July 12;
- The Taliban attacked security bases in Kunduz and Badakhshan provinces, killing at least 19 Afghan soldiers;
- The Taliban attacked an ANDSF intelligence compound in northern Samangan, killing 12 people and injuring 63 others, mostly civilians.
