A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- Kabul-Nangarhar highway was closed after fighting between militants and Afghan forces broke out in Kabul’s Mahi Par area;
- A suicide attacker detonated explosives planted in a car on the 601 highway in Nahr Seraj district of Helmand. Two ANA members were killed;
- According to Taliban spokesman, Taliban released 16 policemen from captivity in Balkh province.
