- At least 20 people were killed and 50 others were injured in an attack on on former interior minister and vice-presidential candidate Amrullah Saleh’s political office in Kabul. 16 of those killed were civilians. At least 4 attackers were involved in the incident;
- US Special Envoy to the Afghan conflict Zalmay Khalilzad said that direct talks between the Kabul government and the Taliban will start only after reaching the US-Taliban deal;
- The Taliban announced that its forces had stormed the Ab Band district, Ghazni province. The group claimed that 2 dozens of pro-government personnel were killed or injured;
- Clashes between the Taliban and government troops were reported in the districts of Wazi Zadran, Ahmad Abad and , Paktia province. The Taliban says at least 34 government fighters were killed.
