A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghainstan:
- The Taliban claims that its forces have shot down an Afghan army helicopter in the Farsi district of Herat province;
- Taliban forces attacked a police checkpoint in the Qadis district of Badghis killing two officers and wounding four others;
- At least 4 children were killed and 3 others were wounded in a mortar shelling in the Deh Yak district of Ghazni province;
- According to Afghan sources, government troops have repelled Taliban attacks in the Aqcha district of Jawzjan province. At least six soldiers were killed and three others were wounded;
- At least 13 Taliban members were killed and 12 others were wounded in clashes with Afghan security forces in the southern part of Kandahar province.
