A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- At least 9 civilians were killed and 5 others were wounded in a mine blast in the Arghistan district, Kandahar province
- 14 government troops surrendered to the Taliban the Namak Ab district of Takhar province, the group claimed;
- 3 government troops surrendered to the Taliban in the districts of Khogyani and Shirzad, Nangarhar province, the Taliban said;
- 2 soldiers defected to the Taliban in the Wurduj district of Badakhshan province, according to the grpup;
- The Taliban claimed that 3 children were killed and 3 more were severely injured in artillery strikes by government forces in the Syagard district of Parwan province.
