A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- The Kabul government continues to voice concerns over the direct talks between the Taliban and the US. The US-controlled government is concerned that the talks may lead to dire consenqueses for its rule;
- Airstrikes on the villages of Goger and Faqir in the Zana Khan district, Ghazni province reportedly killed 6 and injured 3 persons. A local mosque and a religious seminary were targeted;
- Government security forces carried anti-Taliban raids in the Gerdi Kach area of the Behsud district, Nangarhar province;
- The Taliban attacked government positions in the Kamparak area on the border between the districs of Sangin and Gerishk. According to Voice of Jihad, 9 army pesonnel were killed and 2 vehicles were destroyed.
