Iran’s already got a shadow on the entire west and north of Afghanistan. If it came down to it we’re happy to partition the country along Persian vs pashtu wahabbi lines. Iran will get the bulk of territory including a contiguous corridor to Persian Tajikistan. No problem. Russia is totally on board with this too.
