A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- It’s expected that in April Afghanistan will receive 2 refurbished Mi-24 helicopters from India. 2 more Mi-24s are expected to be delivered in the summer. The attack helicopters are undergoing maintanence in Belarus;
- The Taliban attacked the Germawok area in the city of Tarinkot. According to pro-Taliban sources, up to 15 pro-government fighters were killed;
- 5 civilians were reportedly killed as a result of airstrikes in the Sherzad district, Nangarhar province;
- The Taliban claims that an IED attack destroyed a vehicle belonging to foreign forces in the Garamsir district killing or wounding people inside.
