A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- The Taliban has expanded operations in Nangarhar, Kunar and Nuristan provinces over the past two months, according to pro-government sources. Authorities say that the Taliban is cooperating with al-Qaeda there;
- At least 24 people were killed and almost 70 others were wounded in a bombing at a funeral in the Shewa district pf Nangarhar province;
- The Afghan military said that 11 Taliban members were killed and 10 others were injured in airstrikes on the Balkh district of Balkh province;
- 14 people were killed in a series of explosions and gunfire by ISIS miltiants in the Dasht-e-Barchi area of PD13 in western Kabul.
