A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- A police officer was killed when gunment attacked a checkpoint in Herat city. Government sources claim that 2 attackers were killed and another one injured;
- 5 villages in the Shirin Tagab district of Faryab province reportedly switched the side from the Taliban to government forces;
- 2 civilians were wounded as a result of shelling by government forces in the Syed Abad district of Wardak province, the Taliban claimed;
- The Taliban claimed that government forces killed 2 civilians in the Alishang district of Laghman province.
