A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- The Ministry of Defense reported ‘scores’ of the Taliban attacks in the past 24 hours. The clashes erupted in the following provinces: Kunar, Nuristan, Nangarhar, Maidan Wardak, Paktia, Paktika, Logar, Kandahar, Badghis, Farah, Faryab, Balkh, Helmand, Nimroz, Badakhshan, Baghlan, Takhar, Kunduz;
- The Taliban announced that 37 goverment fighters had defected and joined the group Balkh and Badakhshan provinces.
