A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- Sayed Ahmad Babazai, the police chief of Khost, and his 2 body guards were killed in an IED blast in the Zinikhil area of Nadir Shah Kot district. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack;
- The total number of Taliban prisoners released by the Kabul government reached 933;
- A member of Afghan special forces surrounded to the Taliban in the Rabati Sangi district of Herat province. A total of 11 government fighters recently surrounded to the Taliban in Herat province.
