The influence of the US-backed Kabul government continues to shrink across Afghanistan. According to reprots in local media and claims of the Taliban’s news agency Voice of Jihad, the Afghan movement has recently carried a new series of attacks on forces loyal to the Kabul government.
- Especially intense clashes took place in the Khas Uruzgan area where the Taliban allegedly killed over 40 soldiers, including several commanders, in clashes there during the last week.
- Two soldiers died and three others were injured in an explosion of roadside bomb in the Shalgar district of Logar province.
- The Taliban carried out a successful attack on a security forces base in the city of Terinkot in the province of Uruzga. The military base was captured.
