- The Taliban said that 23 government fighters were killed and 11 others were injured in clashes in the districts of Syed Abad and Nirkh district, Wardak province;
- Government forces announced that they had repelled Taliban attacks in the districts of Dash-e-Archi and Chardara, Kunduz province.

Gossypol in cottonseed is a toxin used to induce infertility in male lab rats. Genetically modified ‘low gossypol’ cottonseed is probably a good tool for population control (if you’re evil or Monsanto – same thing).
