Support SouthFront

This map provides a general look at the military situation in the area of the Syrian city of Deir Ezzor city. Syrian government forces are developing momentum against ISIS in Mayadin and its countryisde.

Mayadin is one of the key ISIS strongholds in the Euphrates Valley. If the army seizes it, government forces will be able to cross the Euhprates River near the strategic Omar oil fields area on the eastern bank of the Euphrates.

Great work, they need to widen that front, in case of counterattack, some attacks seem to have been coordinated with US aerial recon, and us-backed groups.

Vidura

lol isis isnt coordinating with the US.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Nah , ISIS is like the Kurds they are coordinating with Bernard Henry Levy one of the miserable Bastards responsible for this whole mess in the Middle East. This one is helping coordinate the whole damn thing he is one of those Zionist frontmen just ask Tillerson about his plans that helped do in Libya.

Steven Fay

Have been since the start, ISIS are CIA assets.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The SAA have attacked on 2 flanks giving only the North bank as a line of retreat and have managed to capture 50% of the city, they have captured the eastern bank of the Siyasah bridge earlier and intend to liberate nearby villages. The SAA is also preparing for the Liberation of Abukamal as the Iraqi forces are preparing to liberate Al Qaim , The Men of God are going into battle ! May they be protected and guided by the Hand of God! Ameen!

Lone Wolf

Is that MAP accurate… ? I thought SDF were already in the town As Suwar and lead element upto river Khabur … Have SDF crossed the river already … ? This is soo nerve-wrecking !!!

dutchnational

SDF is in Suhwar, has taken a number of villages around that city and on its southern axis along the river is right on the Khabur river or is crossing it now. Just a very small river even when it has water in it.

Jordan Katz

This map is zoomed in too far to see As Suwar. It’s further up and to the right a bit. (out of view)

Floyd Hazzard

I noticed a while back southfront started playing games with the maps. I pray they choose not become like the western MSM, dispensing it as they see fit instead of as it is.

Lone Wolf

Yes…. I hope thats not the case too … If you look up the map in http://syriancivilwarmap.com/ or https://syria.liveuamap.com … both clearly shows SDF advances much more closer to the al-Omar oilfields then shown here …

Jens Holm

SDF often dont tell exact where they are for us. They also tell the enemies.

SAA sometimes tells they has advanced more then they are but they seemes to have improved a little about it.

Its semes to be a good idea putting a contest in plus and minus for them. They also fight very different.

Lone Wolf

@disqus_4i0qg70fp2:disqus .. Well if you check their news site .. plenty of bragging too … http://aranews.net/2017/08/military-effort-not-enough-to-eliminate-isis-in-raqqa-us-coalition-envoy/

dutchnational

As far as i know, ARA news is now defunct, at least for the english language part.

So, even if correct, then “old” news.

John

All maps have to be taken with a grain of salt. Following a development over time tells the real story; patience is the name of the game.

Joe Doe

SAA should also make advance towards Euhprates River, just to cover their backs again the Euhprates River. Right now SAA can be outflank from all sides and cut off from supply lines. Having the whole area under control SAA can cross the Euhprates River at any point.

John

IS tried that last week. It did not end well for them. They lost a ton of people and stuff, out in the sandbox.

Jens Holm

Damaskus certainly lost a lot too and has to regain extra too. Some from ISIS are still out there. Is the main suplly line to DEZ open. Not according to my informations.

Jens Holm

Yes, they havnt all under control spreading out like this again and again.

Greywolf

Seems that Isis is attacking HTS in ildib territory now. They just pop out of nowhere .

Ronald

How did ISIS get from east Syria to Idlib to attack HTS ? and why would they . Fake news , US smoke and mirrors .

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Lot of ISIS had escaped the pocket, so they were in the region, then another group came from Qaratayn 10 days ago , they all arranged to meet and the rest is history. Never mind the dumb ass HTS decided to pull most of their troops from the area to attack Abu-Dali that was a bad mistake with ISIS in the region. They have themselves to blame very bad planning and stupid leadership, they betray each other all the time.

Solomon Krupacek

too narrow is this wedge.

dutchnational

It seems there is a ceasefire in Raqqah.

IS, apparantly, proposed, through tribal fighters, a deal. “Let us go and you get the civillians and the city”.

Tough decision. My mind says SDF should say no, but all those civillians……

I hope they make the right decision.

dutchnational

No follow up on that tweet but still hardly any fighting there at the moment.

Radio silence or a rumour?

Rafik Chauhan

SAA ALSO HAS TO TAKE AL BUSHARYA BEFORE SDF DO. IF SAA TAKE THAT TOWN BUSYRA THEN THEY WILL CUT SDF FROM EUPHRATES AND KUBER RIVER BCUZ BACKYARDS OF THE RIVER WILL SECURE SAA ALSO AND IT WILL BE EASY TO TAKE OIL FIELD OMAR FROM BOTH SIDE ATTACK

Jens Holm

You have to wait a couple of days or more. Very difficult to take things from SDF when iSIS has them.

You might make a “hands up” and make them do it faster.

Best regards from John Wayne and Arnold.

Deo Cass

Some news outlets are reporting that Mayadin city is completely encircled by government forces on both sides of the Euphrates river. But this map does not show such an encirclement. Is this map up to date please or is the news of a total encirclement of Mayadin is not true?

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

This is a southfront map or older one, try ISWN middle east conflict map they should be more up to date or muraselon news.

Jens Holm

Advances like that is often more like “contested”. So You might have pockets, which can have many soldiers or smaller groups.

ISIS regroup and regain fast even behind the enemy line. Often the line isnt a line at all but possesing strongpoints.

If You take the SDF village taking at the opposite site of the river people write as me: Well done. That was fast. But at least sone of us say there will be cleaning and counterttacks before You can go their only using a hat for protection.
