SKY

Nice i see now second pocked almost is formed , very nice

Graeme Rymill

Not almost… it is completely formed!

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

There is another hill still yet to be taken to effect the pocket encirclement an then they can clear out the est. 600 fighters there since it is open desert.

Graeme Rymill

An unnamed hill at an unknown location? That is totally lame even by your low standards Woolpuller.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The hill was highlighted in blue you are the only lame one who seems to be oblivious to this fact. This isn’t looking good for you since the last time your knowledge on improved refueling systems on F-16 is negligible a system they worked on going back to the first gulf war.

Graeme Rymill

Blue just means high point….. the pocket is sealed 100% in this Southfront map …..are you looking at the braille version?

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The Overlook point in Blue is MT. Alstih which overlooks the region of the desert.

Graeme Rymill

At last something definite from Woolpuller! The discussion wasn’t about overlooking positions…it was about whether or not a pocket had totally formed. It had – there is no corridor out of the pocket no matter how many overlook points you identify.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The map never really follows the flow but where they know they are , since it was reported they were taking the MT Astih and still fighting was in progress. Daesh they could have used the it to create a path and cause a hole but apparently they are very weak in the region , which is looking to be the case everywhere else. The majority are caught in the first pocket as this pocket has seen little resistance so far.

The hole wasn’t closed, to me they are just hills as they are very small mountains. Maps can be wrong when actions are still active but are relying on what they assume to fill in the missing part just as in cartography. When controlling vast areas the highpoints are important in maintaining and controlling the region. This is basic strategy in needing the best vantage point to observe and have fire control, the better your field of vision the better chance to counter your enemy from a defensive position.

Everything you seemed to offer without realizing that pocket wasn’t closed shows your knowledge is greatly lacking about combat strategy and fire control and misreading reports as they are not always relay the actual ground activity.

Graeme Rymill

“The hole wasn’t closed, to me they are just hills as they are very small mountains.” Woolpuller…. seriously…you need to go back on the meds…..

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The only one who needs meds is you since they hadn’t actually closed the hole as it was still a narrow corridor that could be assaulted from north or South. The lines are never solid across, besides they had just announced the Assault on the Mt. Astih, try learning more before you open your mouth it saves the time of making yourself loo stupid.

syrian army experience became huge

Steven Fay

Once 2 pockets are emptied they can shorten the front line, Deir ezzor within a couple of weeks.
