ISIS governor of Deir ez-Zor Abu Khadijah al-Masri was killed along with other ISIS members during clashes with the Syrian Arab Army in the city of Deir Ezzor on May 22. According to reports, more than 15 ISIS fighters, including al-Masri, were killed in recent clashes in the city.

Could you please do a longer article about the situation in Deir Ezzor? – Perhaps a review of what has been happening in the last few months, with some general insight about Zahreddine’s brilliant mobile defense tactics. How is the garrison being supplied (not just pictures of airdrops, actual numbers) and what are the possible strategies they could employ? – Even if the information is old it would still be nice to get some in-depth analysis of this siege.
