So the claim of stopping a genocide is weird. Or the execution of is a failure. in 8 years of fighting in Donbas 3200 civilians were killed, 15000 is the often mentioned number but it includes deaths from combatants on both sides. Some how 4-500 of these dead were Russian soldiers.
To stop this killing of 400 Ukrainian civilians per year. Putin thought it logical to invade, kill 20,000 Russian soldiers, similar number Ukrainian soldiers, kill 10s of thousands of civilians, displace millions, lose billions and billions of dollars in equipment. Lose billions more in trade, showcase to the world Russias main military equipment exports are not so useful, India is looking at other sources for its military equipment. and we have only just started. This conflict looks like it’ll grind on for years. 100s of thousands more will die to save (400 per year) ? How does that even make sense? Or can you claim the results as a victory?
