To be fair the Ukrainians lost men to Friendly fire upon their advance in Kherson. The areas they overtook were abandoned. Trenches and defensive positions were mined and booby trapped in advance. The Russians gave up some land, suffered minimal casualties in a hasty retreat, and managed to inflict heavy casualties on the Ukrainians in their attempts to occupy abandoned areas. As for the Donbass, this area is the most fortified of all Ukraine. The fact is the Russians are gaining ground day by day. With the fall of Bakhmut, the main defense line will fall, and open the door for a springboard assault deep into Ukrainian controlled territory. The reserves of Russia are finishing their training soon. When numbers are even, the Russians will have an even greater advantage. This is fact as the Russians have been able to hold and even push when greatly out numbered and at times out gunned.
The Russian, well organised withdrawal, from Kherson of civilians and Military, + equipment was a tactical necessity, due to the fact that the Ukies had threatened to blow up a massive up stream dam that would have swamped the Western bank of the river in the Kherson region.

Recently i don’t see any Russia retreat but gain some villages ,this happen only some Russia reserve force sent to eastern Ukraine,i waiting for bunch of Russia reserve force in Donbas
