Take Idlib or advance along M4 to cut them in half?
I think the priority will be to secure the surrounds of Aleppo that has suffered rocket attacks almost daily right up to now. It will free a lot of grunts from purely defensive work to keep the snipers at bay.
I disagree. That would be the previous plan. But with a lot of turks now in the surroundings of idlib, they could be tempted to take the opportunity to attack from the back of SAA I believe that an diversionist atack in Kafranbell would distract them, and force them to divide their forces to help the south. When they do this, an attack could be made in Alepo. If they do not help Kafranbel, we attack it and Al Barah, and divide the south from the north. After Alepo is secure (or the whole south of idlib is taken), the encirclement of Idlib may begin
That is a good tactical plan. But I think that Aleppo’s strategic nature still outweighs any tactical advantages that are gained from your plan. Turkey is not going to attack SAA around Aleppo city, I think the Turks are more interested in slowing down the fall of Idlib city, which they can’t ultimately prevent. They must have a lot of assets there to care about it so much. Their orders are most likely to rescue the assets and bring them home. The Uighurs of the Turkistan Islamic Party could be part of this.

SAA has been trying to capture Kabani for 2 years now..loosing thousands of troops…. a meat grinder……..what I dont understand is why the Russian airforce does not flatten kabani and also using thermobaric Munition…and if nothuing else works use the godamm “Moab” bombs BECAUSE there are ZERO civilians in kabani and surroundings Areas left even pointed out by the SOHR which clearly stated that only HTS members with members of Turkestan islamic Party are stationed there, and SOHR is definetly not a “friend” of assad Regime………….but somwhow…..after 2 years and thousands of dead SAA (southfront has a good dozen+ articles on kabani), the small mountaintop Village of kabani ( which overlooks jirs-shugur with total fire Control) is still under the Control of HTS.

this is a good Picture of kabani and it´s surroundings and why it is ESSENTIAL , this small Village, in capturing west Idlib.
Kabani overlooks the northern part of the al-ghab plain and the mountains southwest of Jisr ash-Shughur. When the SAA controls Kabani they have a free ride to the Al-Ghab plain and Jisr-ash Shughur.
A daily dose of thermobarics would help to degrade the defences of Kabani, I think.
Russia should maybe use some of their new weapons to destroy the Jihadi defenses. There are many trenches, caves and tunnels around Kabani. I know for the SAA this front might be the hardest one, but with enough effort and smart tactics they can overrun the Jihadi defenses. The liberation of Kabani will be another turning point in favor of the SAA. Then the road to Jisr ash-Shughur will be open and the SAA can teach the Uyghurs and Chechens a lesson. Idlib should be their graveyard.

It’s great to see the SAA steamrolling the rats, but I’m just worried about the civilians in Idlib. The SAA liberates ghost cities. When they approach new areas, the civilians just flee to other areas in the green zoo. How can they be rescued? The humanitarian corridors are blocked by the Jihadis.
I reckon that those who didn’t want to be in the Idlib terrorist reservation left years ago, and that those that didn’t mind living there. Not to mention that many of the families of headchoppers were added to the population. Making for even more people that were kinda okay with headchopper rule.
If this was true, where they to escape to? The turkish border was closed I think, Afrin was under YPG control and the frontline with the SAA was very dangerous for them.
That didn’t stop the province’s Christian and Shia minorities from leaving the province. Not to mention that private bus companies still ran bus connections from Syrian government territory to even ISIS occupied Raqqa at the time. The frontline wasn’t a WW1 trench running alongside the entire length, most of it was empty space and checkpoints. Pay the right amount at the checkpoint and through you would go.
Were there really bus connections to ISIS held areas? Can’t remember it.
Saw it in a news report in 2016, with busses leaving from Aleppo to various destinations throughout the country, including opposition and ISIS held territories.
This is not a war with massive WW1 frontlines and massed armies, this is a war where attacks are conducted with company and battalion strengths and 2 Jihadi pickup trucks and a suicide scooter are reported as ‘offensives’. Okay, that’s probably overdoing it, but these fights aren’t that big in scale. And lets not forget that in the darkest days, when Aleppo was split in two and only a single road, the Khanasser road of life was its only lifeline. And yet that road was not a massive fortified line. It just consisted of check points with no troops interspersed between them. And I wouldn’t be surprised if freight operators paid off local warlords not to harass them on the road at that time.
At some state the civilians will have to pluck up courage and run the jihadist gauntlet to save themselves. It will be important to have video evidence of this if it happens. Evidence of the murderous Jihadi’s that is to big for the wretched Zionist media to ignore.
Maybe they should coordinate this with the SAA. The pro-SAA spies could get information about where the least number of Jihadis at the frontlien are stationed and the SAA can bomb their positions 24/7, so they can’t send reinforcements to this specific area and can’t prevent the civilians to flee anymore. I’m happy that many areas were liberated in the last few weeks, but I’m kinda sad at the same time, that the residents of these areas couldn’t celebrate the victory, because they fled the fighting and are still living under the Jihadis.
