A brief overview of the recent developments in Iraq:
- As a result of ISIS attacks in the Mukayshifa area one Iraqi Federal Police officer was killed and 3 others were wounded;
- The Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) seized several explosive barrels and rocket launchers belonging to ISIS terrorists northeast of Baquba;
- Iraqi PM Mustafa al-Kadhimi announced snap parliamentary elections on June 6, 2021;
- According to US CENTCOM, ISF cleared more than 250 villages and sites during the 4th phase of Operation “Iraqi Heroes” in Diyala Province;
- The Iraqi Air Force conducted air strikes at ISIS locations in Wadi Al-Shay south of Kirkuk.
ISIS is still alive and well in Iraq. means of pressure to the Iraqi government maybe?to behave as a loyal puppy or else…….
