A brief overview of the recent developments in Iraq:
- The number of Turkish soldiers killed in Iraqi Kurdistan increased to 5, according to Turkish Defence Ministry;
- The Saraya Thurat al-Ashrin al-Thaniyah group attacked an US Army logistic convoy en route from Diwaniyah to Al-Samawah, on July 11;
- Iraqi forces cleared 7 villages, destroyed 4 dens and 5 ISIS tunnels, found 17 explosive devices during the second day of the operation “Iraqi Heros”;
- The PMU forces cleared the Hussein Al-Jassem region, Imam Abbas and Ahmad Ahmadi districts in Diyala province;
- 2 PMU soldiers were killed by an IED explosion near the city of Muqdadiyah in Diyala province.
Still waiting for this ‘major resurgence from a newly reformed Daesh‘, that all the ‘experts’ in the media and Twitter have been saying is going to happen for the past year or so.
