A brief overview of the recent developments in Iraq:
- The Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) 23rd Brigade repelled an intense ISIS attack in the Adhim area of Diyala Province;
- Spanish and US forces handed over the Basmaya base in the southeast of Baghdad to Iraqi Army;
- Iraqi security forces launched the fourth phase of a joint security operation against ISIS in Diyala province;
- The Iraqi military deployed security personnel to 14 of the country’s border crossings and ports as part of a campaign against corruption at the customs points.
