- On September 2, hundreds of Kirkuk’s Arabs and Turkmens launched a rally after the Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani issued orders to evacuate the Kirkuk Operations Command headquarters and hand it over to the leaders of the Kurdistan Democratic Party;
- One of the security officers and 4 others were killed and 12 others were injured, according to the Kirkuk hospital;
- On September 3, security forces were deployed in Kirkuk, curfew ended and the peace was restored.
