Regarding Russia’s retreat from Lyman. How many losses did Ukraine suffer to gain that? Including injured, killed and taken hostage compared to the Russian side. What comes down to who is winning the war is not necessarily the land but the total amount of loss compared to your enemy. Russia also says they did ”tactical retreats” before and that made me wonder what they meant by that. One is obviously not suffering losses but when I compared the land they retreated from versus where the Ukrainian’s were it made me realize that the retreat was to make the Ukrainians come back on flat land so the Russian’s had an easier time killing them. Because the Ukrainians had fortified places and the terrain were to their advantage
