A brief overview of the recent developments in Libya:
- Protest and sporadic gunfire were reported in the town of Zawiyah;
- A Turkish C130 military cargo plane with Turkish soldiers on board reportedly landed at Al Watiyah Air Base;
- Libya’s Parliament president, Aguila Saleh and GNA leader Fayez Sarraj called for an immediate ceasefire, establishment of a demilitarized zone between al-Jufra and Sirte, as well as for presidential and parliamentary elections in March 2021, making the city of Sirte a temporary seat for a new presidential council and an agreement to preserve oil income until a full political settlement is reached.
