A brief overview of the recent developments in Libya:
- 20 Libyan National Army (LNA) fighters werre killed in clashes with forces of the Government of National Accord (GNA) in the Khallatat area, the GNA claims;
- The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister welcomed the GNA readiness to accept a ceasefire proposed by Turkey and Russia;
- The LNA continued advance in the countryside of Sirte;
- The LNA is advancing on al-Sawani in southern Tripoli.

I hate war , the often pointless deaths, destruction hitting the innocent victims but sometimes war is the only option-this is the case in Libya. A ceasefire now will not only save the gangster regime in Tripoli but preserves the power of the warlords of Misrata, thus snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. I never understood why the HoR LNA wasted six months (May-Nov) politicking instead of progressing the Tripoli sector offensive when the enemy was weak and dis-organized – instead, again, the enemy is given time to replenish weaponery, re-inforce defense works, re-arm and replace casualties, re-deploy fighters from Syria. Turkey will continue to ignore any pathetic UN/EU arms “embargo” and insert more and more personnel, arms, and equipment to their proxies and MB flunkies, and then, when THEY are ready, launch a counter-offensive so we go back to square one on the foreign malign “players ” chessboard. This war is a Libyan affair, it is not for external powers to use Libya as their plaything !! Right across the western mountains all the tribal groupings from Nalut to Zintan to Beni Walid declared for the LNA, are they to be abandoned now ??
once again, the libyan people are about to be screwed over, there would not have been a ceasefire declared if the gna were to advance. This ceasefire was created by erdogan, why is libya following it, when the gna is nothing but terrorists!?
I was excited to hear of the numerous accomplishments of the lna so far this month. The acceptance of the cease fire is not one of them.
By doing this, will make the gna increase power, ensuring lawlessness in tripoli and migrants being led to their deaths in the mediterranean sea. Haftar taking tripoli will be an advancement of human rights. There are no more terrorist attacks in benghazi, no kidnappings or beheadings.
Does the LNA have a phone number for their office?, someone should call them and put some sense in their brains before they all end up like gaddafi who was also gullible to trust the rules!

Agree 100 % – GNA Command has little control, if any, over the main gangster groups : Tripoli Revolutionaries Battalion-Brigade 301/17 Security Unit/-Tajourah Battalion etc.., BUT Turkey has complete control of the ex-Syria jihadists on the payroll (Sultan Mourad, Faylaq ash-Sham) and can use these to advantage. GNA demands that ceasefire means LNA must withdraw to pre 04 April lines is ridiculous bad joke. LNA should continue offensive, if not in Tripoli sector, at least to Misrata and western coast road. We will see.
this gives me hope when an envoy for Haftars government stated: “Before Turkey can pretend to call for any ceasefire, it must immediately stop the shipping of death to Libya, and it must respect the will of the Libyan people by respecting Libya’s duly elected Parliament. As for Russia’s call for a ceasefire, it can be helpful, if it entails the GNA peacefully handing over the remaining areas of the capital Tripoli to the legitimate and duly elected Parliament of Libya and its LNA,”
Hopefully this means they won’t accept GNA’s ceasefire terms.

GNA allows migrants to cross into europe and die en route, GNA cannot govern their own territory, GNA has nothing but terrorists in its ranks, and racist misrata brigades.
Haftar is a strong man and Libya needs a strong man more than ever. Bring Libya back to its prosperous years instead of being stuck in the stone age.

Per SF , on Thursday 09 JAN, LNA Spox : “We welcome [Russian President Vladimir] Putin’s call for a ceasefire. However, our fight against terrorist organizations that seized Tripoli and received support of some countries will continue until the end,” al-Mesmari said in a video. Now, less than 48 hours later declaring a ceasefire !! Massive back-down, why ??
Rascal general Haftar had no choice, but to abide the ceasefire, after Putin pulled Wagner paramilitary group from the front. Erdogan whispered Putin’s ear that Israel-South Cyprus-Greece gas pipeline will endanger Russian gas supplies to Europe by newly inaugurated Turkstream pipeline. So Putin suddenly realised rascal Haftar is wrong side to support. UAE & Egypt at that point are just pawns of Israel & have no effect whatsoever to carry the assault on GNA forces.
