A brief overivew of the recent developments in Libya:
- Egyptian armed forces conduct a large-scale military exercise called “Decisive 2020”, which include naval and air activities on the eastern border of Libya;
- Libya’s National Oil Company accused the UAE of instructing the eastern forces to re-impose a blockade on oil exports;
- The satellite imagery shows that a new howitzer, probably a Turkish T-155 Firtina, was installed in Watiya airbase.
So no deal on oil exports, not a big surprise. Egypt might just step up to the plate and protect it’s western neighbour, which would certainly be good for Egypt.
