A brief overview of the recent developments in Libya:
- Turkish sources claim that the Turkish military will establish a permanent presence at the al-Watiya airbase;
- Turkish-backed forces have been sending reinforcements to the contact line with the Libyan National Army (LNA) near Sirte;
- Turkish explosive ordnance disposal units started working in southern Tripoli;
- At least 3 Turkish military cargo planes delivered equipment and weapons to Misrata.
What is it with Turkey ? Is Turkey the world’s superpower ? How can Turkey invade and occupy northern Cyprus, northern Aleppo, Afrin, Idlib and now Libya with ZERO pushback from anyone , apart from weak, weasel protests from Russia, Egypt, but never any serious attempt to stop these invasions ? Every single day the Turks re-inforce their garrisons across Syria, now building the same PERMANENT bases in Libya, quite openly defying any and all “agreements ” to limit their expansions. The LNA so-called “backers/allies ” ( supposedly Russia, Egypt, UAE, Saudi, Jordan !) do nothing, if Egypt in particular were serious it would have deployed into Libya in support months ago, when the Turks started massive shipments of mercenaries, heavyarms,ACVs , and set up their Operational bases. But no, when the chips were down they all took the cowards way out, did nothing and now it is too late. Make no mistake the Ottomans mean to stay – as yet they have not withdrawn a single meter in Syria, nor will they unless driven back. The Turks are good students of Israel – bit by bit they expand their control using salami tactics until they have “fait accompli “, followed by annexation. No-one dares confront Turkey on the battlefield for the same reason Israel is protected : terrified that US will retaliate. And so Libya looks set for a long war or uneasy partition.
Because they have the support of USA as we have seen in Idlib during the past SAA offensive!…Turkey protect Islamic wahabi terrorist in “safe areas” as all these terrorist brands are just tools to later enable the west( NATO) to invade countries such as.. Afganistan,Syria, Libya, Iraq, Mali,Chad,Central Africa,Congo,Gabon…and others could follow the same path..Nigeria, Mozambique,Senegal…
One caveat is logistics. Turkey would not be able to field and supply a large force in Libya. Egypt has a common border and so is in a much better position to enter the fray. It is like Britain’s security guarantee to Poland in 1939. Germany made quick work of Poland as we know. Now if Poland was an island nation located In vicinity of where the WWI naval battle of Jutland took place, Britain’s unmatched sea power would make the guarantee much more credible. But Turkey does not have nearly enough naval assets or a land route to rapidly deploy a force that could challenge any significant EgyptIon intervention. The question is If Sisi has the political will to intervene.
My suspicion is that Sisi already has come to an arrangement with the GNA and appears to be already sidelining Haftar – search on articles with keywords Haftar to retire, stay in Egypt. The GNA has stated they will begin the political process once Sirte is taken which tells me there is an understanding in place on a political solution – Sirte was perhaps overreach and Sisi responded with a military show of force. We have seen this story many times.
Lastly, regarding Turkey getting away with so much, it has but at a price. Turkey got a bloody nose in Idlib, contending with US armed Kurdish forces and is being challenged in the Eastern Mediterranean via EEZ agreements – Italy and Greece already have agreement and Cyprus and Egypt are also coming on board – this will greatly curtail Turkish designs on resources in the Eastern Mediterranean.
One other thing, with the retreat of US hegemony, regional powers are actively redefining theIr formal alliances and power relationships and in so doing, resetting spheres of Influence under the emerging multipolar world order. This is what Iran, China, Russia etc. are doing and will continue to do until international affairs settle into place making things much less chaotic.
Turkey can do only steps, which are not pain in ass of russia, usa, france, gb, israel. ErDOGan carefully chooses his imperial steps.
I tell you, if Egypt would send 50 000 soldiers in Libya, turkey would lose.
Strange comment. If Turkey sent 100,000 soldiers into Libya Egypt would lose. What’s the point of hypotheticals ?
Exactly FoW – too many “if this or if that ” which are never going to happen.

Economically, Turkey is being challenged in the Eastern Mediterranean via EEZ agreements – Italy and Greece already have agreement and Cyprus and Egypt are also coming on board – this will greatly curtail Turkish designs on resources in the Eastern Mediterranean.

You mean Egypt SHOULD send 50,000 soldiers into Libya now rather than give al Qaeda a Califate on her western border.
What are Europeans thinking, unfortunately they are not.
Numbers don’t make any difference. no prop let them send 100.000 all you need is 10 Turkish drones job done
You have to understand the dark Spiritual power that is behind Turkey in order to get your questions answered. Turkey , I believe is the “little horn” in the prophesy of the Book of Daniel in the Jewish and Christian Holy Books. Furthermore it is the “king of the North” that will overrun Libya, Egypt, and Sudan. Ultimately it will go against Israel…and that is when the Lord Jesus Christ will return and deal with the scourge of EVIL on earth and in heavenly places.
Cut the bs. and wake up from Jewish stories. Strong eats the weak that’s the world.
That is not the world God created. Explain how the prophet Daniel was able to fore-tell the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD and give an exact date for that event… ” seventy week are determined on thy people and thy holy city….”
Are you really giving a “proof” from bible for the bible??
What I am doing is telling those that have ears to hear of an event that was record in the time of the Babylonian captivity by Daniel fore-telling an event that occurred many centuries later. There are other historical sources for both events, Dead sea scroll, Josephus and yes, the bible
I am the god… why? Because I say so.
Whatever you say dumbo
Turkey rush into crush, and it’s speeding up.
Because they know.. TÜRKİYE got ever right to liberate back our lands back. more to come watch it
