- On October 16, the UN MINUSMA began the process of withdrawing its camps from Tessalit and Aguelhok;
- On October 18, the Malian Army took control of Tessalit base after withdrawal of UN MINUSMA troops;
- The Malian Army and Wagner PMCs regained 17 towns, villages and military bases in the north-east of the country from the Azawad movement and other insurgent groups;
- On October 19, the deposed President of Niger Mohamed Bazoum reportedly tried to escape from his place of detention in Niamey. The attempt failed. He and some of his accomplices were arrested.

make three autonomous provinces out of mali: 1) kayes, koulikoro, ségou, mopti, sikasso -> to bambara (bamako) 2) tombouctou, gao, ménaka -> to songhai (timbuktu) 3) taoudénit, kidal -> to azawagh (kidal) this would encourage peace and reduce islamic fanaticism.
