Syrian government forces have re-captured Tulaysiyah, al-Sha’thah and al-Qahirah villages in northern Hama from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) and its allies.
These villages were seized by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham on September 19 when the group launched its advance against government forces. However, militants failed to develop momentum and were forced to retreat under the pressure of government forces and the Russian Aerospace Forces on September 20.
On September 21, the situation remained tense on the frotline and sporadic firefgihts continued.
