On Friday, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) launched an advance against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) in northern Hama. The first push of militants was repelled by government forces. However, clashes continued on Saturday.
Hayat Tahrir al-Sham made a series of attempts to captured the NDF-hel village of Abu Dali but failed to do this. An intense fighting was reported between Hayat Tahrlr al-Sham and the SAA in Eli Mashayfa.
