This map shows the current military situation in northern Hama. According to fresh reports, the Syrian army and its allies have not been able to fully recapture Khattab from militants as a result of their yesterday advance.
Hayat Tahrir al-Sham militants and their allies are in control of Kawkab, Khattab, Maarzaf and Majdal. Government forces have recently reseized Shayzar.

The salient will not be closed until the SAA capures morek. Given the militants have a large motorized army, An offensive from the east to take morek can cut off their supplies of fuel and stop their advance.
