A brief overview of the recent developments in northwestern Syria:
- Pro-militant sources claim that airstrikes hit militants’ positions at Kafr Dail, Hawar and al-Mansura;
- Militants claim they destroyed an ATGM position of the Syrian Army west of Jarjanaz;
- Pro-Turkish sources say that Kurdish rebels shelled Afrin city.
In other words no good news. :[
The air strikes west of Aleppo are good news, that city needs an expanded buffer zone.
I don’t agree, I think they were terrible. Airstrikes can’t provide an increased buffer zone, only a coordinated ground and air assault resulting in gained territory has any way of increasing a buffer zone, so the airstrikes were pointless if you’re using that argument to say they were good. The only good thing it did was panic the already frightened civilians, that’s the only positive result I can see, but it also killed a lot of them too, which is a really bad thing for 2 reasons, 1, it’s morally wrong, 2, it gives Erdogan justifiable reason to turn to the UN and US for support, and we don’t want them getting JUSTIFIABLY involved on humanitarian grounds. And as a byproduct of the air support being diverted to the Aleppo air assault, the terrorists managed to attack and beat the SAA in south east Idlib, whereas just the day before the SAA were gaining territory with the assistance of air support. It was an idiot that came up with that idea and he should be sacked for it, IT DID WAY MORE HARM THAN GOOD.
The Russians have the blood of innocent civilians of Idlib in their hands.
Anytime when the “blood of innocents” topic comes up, Americans better to shut up and hide in a deep cave.

Jan. 20, 2020 – Syrian government launches “Our Lira is Our Pride” campaign to support the Syrian pound (Lira).
In order to support the Syrian currency, President Assad issued decrees 3 & 4 for the year 2020, which stated “increasing the penalties” for speculators trading in foreign currency.
