Norhwestern Syria remains the main hot point in the war-torn country alongside with the Euphrates Valley near the Syrian-Iraqi border.
- According to reports by pro-government sources, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formelry Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda), Jasih al-Izza and other militant groups continue constant violations of the ceasefire regime. Pro-militant sources also admit this.
- During a meeting of the UN Security Council on October 29, the Russian side warned that the White Helmets and Jabhat al-Nusra are still capable of carrying out provocatinos with chemical weapons in the Idlib de-escalation zone. According to the provided data, “suspicious” movements of chemical weapons across the de-escalation zone continue.
- The Turksih military is boosting its presence in the Idlib demiltiarized zone, reinforcing its observation posts with armoured vehicles and troops. However, this does not prevent militants from violating the ceasefire.
