like v. v, putin, netanyahu may be playing a long game. he may see hezbollah’s limited attacks as tolerable, since it’s reluctance to escalate leaves n not only time but also the initiative. n appears to see cleansing/occupation of the gaza ghetto as the key political objective. after all, hezbollah will stop if that war stops.
