That is a true point, indeed. But you only see the one side of the story, and neglect the other side. Eastern Ukraine is an economically vital spot, and the most important resource-rich part of Ukraine. Ukraine cannot economically flourish without it. And if the people there feel more russian than ukrainian and they want to go to Russia, they can do it. Russia has enough land, and can give them double the amount they left in Ukraine. You are or feel russian, live in Ukraine but hate Ukraine? Then leave Ukraine. Nobody hinders you. Go to your russia. That would be the better solution. But inviding Russian army, and kicking loose all out war, and stealing/annexing foreign land and nuclear sites ( which are same as crucial for the survival of Ukraine state – because energy supply is also a crucial thing for all of Ukraine of course) is just utter madness and will never be accepted. Putin should have enjoyed and stayed with the gain he made – resp. Crimea.

That was a clever coup and the world – also with teeth grinding – accepted it ( because traditionally the russia black sea fleet is there etc. and because it is russians only naval entrance to te black sea). But everthing above that isn t going to work. And you too forget that the communists did already genocide against Ukraine with Holodomor. These people are longtime sick of russia and russian lies and behaviour – and they have good reason to feel this way – and they do not want to have to do with you – they want their country and their system, and the more crimes you commit against them, the more they hate you and the more nations realize that Russia hasn t changed but is still UDSSR, a murderous brutal bolshevic-communist country that cannot get along with others peacefully but always raids other countries if they do not want communism as their system (same as USA is a tyrant that wants to force fake-democracy on everybody by violence). Due to that stupid Putin-attack on a foreign country you even got Finland and other formerly neutral countries to switch sides and join NATO. Nobody needs war, and yes russians have a point, and some things they argument are indeed true, but others are not and are even horrifically wrong. Real talks can only start when Russia stops its aggression, and threatening and annexing of western countries territories. If you go on, and continue your madness, this is guaranteed to lead to world war 3. And already world sees who invaded and started the war. And did it for no reason, as eastern Ukraine isn t crucial for the survival of russian federation. Crimea has high value for Russia militariarly and historically indeed – but eastern Ukraine does not. It was madness to invade and start this war, and it is even more extreme madness to let this evolve into WW3. And also lots of russians see it that way, and do not want their sons to be send into the ukrainian meatgrinder. Of course the russian media propaganda likely manages to instirr hate against Ukrainians and USA (in parts – especially regarding the US politics even deserved) but it blacks out all the crimes they themselves (today russia) and the communists before them commited against Ukraine, and against other countries like Finland etc. Listen again to what the Finnish prime minister says. It is only a few words, but the truth.
