A brief overview of the recent developments in Syria and Iraq:
- The Syrian Army conducted a series of strikes on militants’ positions near Ma`arat al-Nu`man, Saraqib, Ma’ar Shoreen, Ma’ar Shamshah and Talmenes;
- A Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) camp near the Syrian-Iraqi border was reportedly targeted by unidentified aircraft;
- Rocket attacks hit the area near the US embassy and Balad Air Base, which used to host US troops;
- The US-made Boeing Insitu ScanEagle 2 unmanned aerial vehicle crashed in western Anbar.
