This map provides a general look at the military situation in Syria and Iraq on June 14, 2017.
The Syrian Arab Army and its allies have made a large gains against ISIS in the provinces of Raqqah and Homs. The Syrian Democratic Forces have continued storming the ISIS-held city of Raqqah.
Iraqi security forces are storming the ISIS-held part of Mosul.
It is a pity that the Iraqi’s are so obsessed with Mosul. In my opinion they should adopt a semi-truce. That will allow civilians to flee. ISIS will gradually get run out munition and the temporary peace will give them time to let the hopelessness of their situation sink in.
This is exactly what the Syrian army did after they had surrounded East-Aleppo and it worked quite well for them.
mosul has fallen. most of iraq is isis free now.
