A brief overview of the recent developments in Syria:
- The Israeli Air Force carried out airstrikes on targets in Homs province;
- Government troops conduct security operations against ISIS cells in the Homs desert;
- Security forces seized militant weapon caches in Damascus and Quneitra;
- Gunmen reportedly attacked a vehicle of the US-led coalition near Roueished village;
- Russian and Turkish forces conducted a fifth limited joint patrol west of Saraqib;
- US forces conducted a patrol near Al-Malikiyah town.
I am almost certain now that Russia is not in control of the situation in Syria, and likely to withdraw its support for Assad soon in order to please Turkey and the US. The indecisiveness of Putin is the sole reason why this war is still going on in Syria.
