A brief overview of the recent developments:
- On August 31, a ceasefire announced by the Syrian-Iranian-Russian alliance started in Greater Idlib. Militant groups have not officially commented on the initiative yet;
- The situation at the Bab al-Hawa crossing remains tense after recent clashes between Turkish border guards and Idlib protesters;
- Kurdish rebels attacked positions of Turkish proxies west of Azaz;
- A second joint the US-Turkey helicopter flight over northeastern Syria ‘safe zone’ took place on August 30.
